Take-home pay calculator

There is no income tax, payroll tax or social security in the Cayman Islands. What does come out of a pay cheque is the employee pension contribution (5% of earnings up to CI$87,000 a year) and up to half of the standard health insurance premium, which the employer is allowed to recover from salary. Enter your gross pay and your health premium share for a realistic monthly figure.

Worth knowing

  • Pension is only mandatory on the first CI$87,000 of annual earnings; anything on top is voluntary.
  • Health premiums vary by insurer and plan. Your offer letter or HR should state your monthly share; the default here is a placeholder.
  • Work permit holders: the permit fee is paid by the employer and is not a salary deduction, though some contracts net it off. Check yours.
