The coast road takes about forty-five minutes to reach East End from George Town, and the destination is the quietest developed part of the island: a scattering of small hotels and condos, a few restaurants, dive operators working the eastern reefs, and long stretches of empty beach between them.

The blowholes on the south shore are the best-known stop, where surf forces up through the ironshore on a windward day. The Wreck of the Ten Sail monument marks the 1794 disaster that put ten ships on the reef in a single night. Colliers Beach and the shore along Queen's Highway are usually close to deserted, and divers come for the eastern wall and reef sites, which see a fraction of the boat traffic on the west side.

There's no real town centre out here, so plan around it: fuel up and pick up groceries before heading east, and check restaurant hours, since several close early or shut on particular days. The trade-off for the drive is that the beaches, dive sites, and roads are largely yours.
