Overtime pay calculator

Under the Labour Act the standard work week is 45 hours (no more than nine a day) and hours beyond that are paid at one and a half times the normal rate. The minimum wage has been CI$8.75 an hour since 1 January 2026, or CI$6.56 for service staff on an approved gratuity scheme. Enter your rate and hours.

Worth knowing

  • Salaried staff: the hourly rate is the weekly salary divided by 45 unless the contract says otherwise.
  • Managers and some professionals can be contracted outside the overtime rules. Check the employment contract before assuming.
  • Disputes go to the Department of Labour and Pensions, which enforces the Act.
