Cayman's accounting sector is unusually top-heavy for an island of its size, because the Big Four firms, KPMG, PwC, EY, and Deloitte, all maintain sizeable Cayman offices to audit the investment funds, insurance companies, and banks domiciled here. Each employs anywhere from roughly 150 to nearly 300 partners and staff locally, concentrated in Camana Bay and George Town's Cricket Square, and their work is dominated by fund audits, financial statement preparation, and regulatory compliance rather than the small-business bookkeeping that fills out accounting listings elsewhere.
That said, plenty of smaller local firms and sole practitioners handle the accounting work that actual Cayman businesses and individuals need: payroll, business licence renewals, monthly bookkeeping, and personal tax questions for the (rare) resident who owes tax elsewhere. Cayman itself has no income, capital gains, or corporate tax, so local accounting work leans toward compliance with the jurisdictions clients are tied to abroad, plus the statutory filings the Cayman Islands Government and CIMA do require of regulated entities.
If you're a fund manager or corporate entity, you'll likely already have been assigned an auditor by your fund's structure. If you're a resident or small business owner, the smaller local firms are usually a better fit than the Big Four for day-to-day accounting support.
