Salons in Grand Cayman

From our travel guide

Grand Cayman's salon scene ranges from full-service resort spas built for hotel guests to independent, plaza-based salons that serve residents and expats year-round. Many of the independent salons sit in the same West Bay Road shopping plazas as the island's pharmacies and clinics, Galleria Plaza, Buckingham Square, and similar centers, making them easy to combine with other errands along Seven Mile Beach's main commercial strip.

Services skew toward what a humid, sun-heavy climate demands: color and highlight work, keratin and straightening treatments, and manicure/pedicure services get heavy repeat business, alongside standard cuts and men's grooming. A number of salons are run by stylists trained abroad, in Brazil, the UK, or elsewhere in the Caribbean, who relocated to Cayman and built a local clientele, so it's worth asking about a stylist's specialty before booking rather than assuming any salon does every service well.

Booking ahead is the norm rather than the exception, especially around the winter high season when the island's population swells with visitors and part-time residents. Walk-ins do happen at smaller shops, but the more established salons run appointment-only most of the week.
