Pension contribution calculator

Every employee in Cayman (after a short probation for new work permit holders) must be enrolled in a registered pension plan. The employer and employee each contribute 5% of pensionable earnings, up to CI$87,000 a year; anything above the cap is voluntary. Enter your salary to see the monthly amounts and the annual total going into the plan.

Worth knowing

  • Self-employed people contribute the full 10% themselves.
  • Work permit holders who leave the island for good can apply to withdraw the balance after a waiting period; permanent residents and Caymanians draw it as a pension.
  • Contributions are not tax deductible because there is no income tax to deduct them from.
