Stamp duty calculator

Stamp duty is the one-off government charge on a property transfer. It is 7.5% of the price or market value (whichever is higher), 10% where that figure is CI$2 million or more since 1 January 2026, and reduced or waived for Caymanians buying a first or second property. Enter the numbers and the calculator applies the current rules.

Worth knowing

  • Legal fees, survey, bank arrangement fees and strata levies are separate. Budget roughly 1% for conveyancing on top.
  • First-time and second-time concessions apply to Caymanians only and, from 2026, in any location including Seven Mile Beach.
  • Mortgage stamp duty is 1% of the loan up to CI$300,000 and 1.5% above that.
