Grand Cayman’s accommodation splits between five-star beachfront resorts, well-equipped condominiums, and a handful of smaller boutique hotels. Seven Mile Beach is where most of the island’s large resorts sit, with direct beach access, multiple pools, on-site restaurants, spas, and watersports desks. For families and longer stays, condo resorts along Seven Mile Beach provide full kitchens, in-unit laundry, and more space than a standard hotel room.
At the top end, the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa and The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman sit right on Seven Mile Beach. The Kimpton sits at the northern end. It’s got a modern feel, a spa people rave about, and a few solid restaurants right on site. The Ritz-Carlton offers the full luxury resort package: multiple dining options, a Greg Norman-designed golf course (the island’s only 18-hole course), and one of the larger spas on the island. The Westin Grand Cayman, further south, strikes a middle ground with family-friendly pools and a wide stretch of beach.
For a more relaxed, residential feel, Caribbean Club and Plantana Condominiums offer spacious units with full kitchens on Seven Mile Beach. Sunshine Suites, next to the Sunshine Grill, is one of the better-value options on the corridor, popular with divers and repeat visitors who want a kitchen and a comfortable base without resort pricing.
On the East End, the Wyndham Reef Resort offers all-suite accommodation on a quiet stretch of beach with three pools and on-site dining. It is a longer drive from George Town and the airport, but the trade-off is a noticeably slower pace and fewer crowds. The Locale Hotel Grand Cayman, near Seven Mile Beach, is a newer boutique option with a stylish fit-out, a small pool, and a good restaurant (Coccoloba) on the ground floor.
Most hotels are within a 20-minute drive of Owen Roberts International Airport. If you plan to explore beyond your resort, rent a car. High season runs December through April, with rates dropping noticeably in summer and fall. Many hotels add a resort fee and government tax on top of the room rate, so check the total before booking.
